Hi! My name is Michael Hüneburg. I'm a Web Developer and Interface Designer based in Hannover, Germany.

I'm the co-founder of Think + Craft.

Shoot me an Email if you like, but definitely follow me on Twitter.

Yesterday I finally decided on an off-site backup provider for project, client and personal data. I was torn between Backblaze and CrashPlan since both are very similar regarding features and pricing. I ultimately chose Backblaze because of the (in my opinion) superior OS X integration as a preference pane and menu bar icon.

So my backup strategy now looks like this:

Time Machine (on-site) for a whole bootable system backup including project and client data
Dropbox (off-site) for client data
Backblaze (off-site) for project, client and personal data (minus music and movies)
Project and client data is the most important data I posess so I feel pretty confident about the additional backup layer, especially since it’s off-site.

If you haven’t given backups much thought so far, I’d seriously recommend taking a look at the World Backup Day website.
